We’re excited to announce the grand opening of The Island Palette, a new art gallery located at The Dunes Sanibel Island Club, 949 Sand Castle Road. The gallery opens its doors in November with exhibitions, programs, and events that connect artists with collectors, neighbors, and visitors from across the region. The Island Palette will also support select local charities as part of its commitment to the community.
Opening Exhibition: “Biolchini Retrospective”
Saturday, November 7, 2026 | 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The gallery’s first exhibition celebrates the work of renowned Florida fine artist Greg Biolchini, whose career spans more than 50 years of portraits, wildlife, and landscapes.
About the Artist
Born near Chicago in 1948, Greg Biolchini discovered his love of art during weekend trips to the Art Institute of Chicago. His family later moved to Southwest Florida, where the natural world became a lasting source of inspiration. He went on to apprentice under portrait painter David Phillip Wilson and study at the Ringling School of Art.
His oil and pastel paintings are held in collections including Florida’s State Capitol Building, the Museum of Florida Art and Culture, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Florida Gulf Coast University. Over his career, he has presented 31 solo exhibitions and received 15 significant awards. In 1988, he became the youngest artist ever to achieve Master Status in the Pastel Society of America, and in 2006 he was named Angel of the Arts Visual Artist of the Year.
Today, Greg works from his riverfront studio on the Caloosahatchee in North Fort Myers.
